Released in 1980, the R-S77. Boasts an astonishing 0.005% THD making this impressive offering from JVC a real sleeper for the audiophile!

One of the primary features is JVC's SEA Graphic Equalizer, which provides ±12 dB equalization at five center frequencies that can also be programmed to equalize the signal to the tape recorders. All controls are either switches or the linear slider type. An output hold-off prevents power supply turn-on transients from being fed to the speakers. With both channels fully driven. Remember, these are what audiophiles call "Vintage Watts, " from an era where, unlike today, it was a sin to manipulate or elaborate the power ratings!

An Aux input, two Tape Loops, and Phono Input. A grounding post for your turntable! It also has an both switched & unswitched AC outlets. It weighs in at just over 23 lbs and measures a sleek 14-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 18-7/8 wide!

This model is a bit under but considering it's vintage and value, we'll still give it the high-end treatment. We do offer free pick-up for paid items in the Denver metro area.

This beautiful receiver is excellent condition with minor signs of use and nice, clean front panel! Aside from a few dings to the veneer, there are just a few light front panel scuffs too faint to make out well in the pics.

The back corners do have missing veneer, with the right side needing a little repair. Please do inspect all the pictures thoroughly for actual condition. On inspection, this unit worked fine with just a little scratchiness to the controls, but they all go to our tech for the usual servicing. No dial lamps, and all the indicators are already LED's so you shouldn't have to worry about any of these in the future. All vintage receivers receive the following services and much more, all performed by our qualified technician. Lid is removed & unit is inspected to determine if any attempted amateur repairs exist that need to be corrected, or substandard parts that need replacement. The exterior, all knobs & plexis are cleaned & detailed. While the front panel is removed for cleaning, all attachments are re-glued and dried out foam inserts replaced.

All switches & pots are be cleaned internally with Specialist Contact Cleaner (proven superior to DeoxIT by our customers), while those with special needs receive the less aggressive DeoxIT F-5. All lamps that are out, or believed to be prone to failure, are replaced if necessary.

LEDs are used whenever compatible. Any faulty components, or those with known issues, such as jacks, fuse-holders, feet, etc.

All PC boards are inspected; all questionable solder joints are re-flowed. All electrolytic caps are inspected for bulging or leakage, those that are at risk or have known issues are checked with the Huntron Tracker (allows evaluation while in-circuit so component does not need to be removed). All questionable caps are replaced with brand new parts, not NOS! DC offset is adjusted & channel levels are calibrated & balanced. Front panel is cleaned & detailed before reassembly. Cabinet is cleaned & detailed, those with wood are polished with Old English. After servicing, we set it up on our test bench and it did not disappoint, both channels drove our speakers with the powerful, warm, distortion-free signal these analog receivers are known for. All inputs and features were confirmed operational and the tuner spins smoothly.

Even though we are in a remote area it was able to pull in all our local FM stations with the included wire antenna, centering the tuning meter and lighting the Stereo lamp. What a great find for the vintage audiophile! FREE SUPPORT MUST BE UTILIZED BEFORE RETURN IS REQUESTED!
